Mentalists at kids football
Went to watch my son play U13s match in Catford today. I ran the line (I'm a qualified ref). I wanted to rant to someone so doing it on WHO...

With 5 minutes to go, and with our team winning 6v2, this huge geezer from other team (a parent) says 10 yards from me, staring at me "that team, they've only got two good players"... clearly trying to intimidate me and all our other parents.

I asked him, "do you think it's right to insult all our kids, I wouldn't say anything about yours".

He tries to justify himself so I said, "uneducated" because he clearly was a prick who didn't understand how to speak to other people.

After that, he spent the last 5 minutes threatening to stab me, punch my head off, go to prison for me, kill me etc, and called me every name under the sun including "racist" which was particularly funny. Then did the same for the next 5 minutes after the match finished as we all got our things and left.

All this in front of two teams of 12 year olds. I've seen a lot of bad behaviour and fights having done kids football for many, many years but I think threatening to stab someone takes the prize for being the biggest cunt I've met in kids football.

usually the loud mouths are just loud mouths with nothing to back it up with (would he really want to do 25 years of bird for a kids football match) it is the quiet ones that you really want to be careful of.

Fifth, nobody likes a grass, but cunts like that need to get booted out the game.

Our lot are in the Surrey Youth League. There was so much agro from arseholes, not just having a pop at all around, but the kids, and refs, some who were junior.

The league have taken a zero approach now and have appointed team marshalls at ever club over U 11 level, to try and diffuse or report the offenders.

Last year my sona U8s were playing in a mini tournament and one of the kids in the opposition called the ref a mug. He was a retired league ref so wouldnt put up with that, so sent him off. His dad who happened to be the manager went mental.

What's worse the kid comes back on and kicks the ref!! At that point he walks off, our two managers decide they ain't gona let the boys play, and all our lot parents agree.

Meanwhile the other dad is going mental accusing our lot of ruining the final as we refuse to play.

Even afterwards during the trophy celebration we can hear him arguing trying to justify his and his sons action, made worse as his mrs has joined in. Fuckin mental..it's kids football.

Think some people psych testing before they go near a football pitch.

There are so many cunts involved in youth football. The FA do fuck all about it.

Re: Mentalists at kids football
There does seem to be a special sub-species of moron inhabiting the touchlines of youth football, mostly male but some of the women are up (down?) there too.

They seem to feel that continuously shouting nonsensical, ill-informed, aggressive rubbish at their kids will make them multi-millionaires in the future, keeping them in fags and bad-taste houses until their timely deaths.

I’ve seen some of the kids just standing on the pitch confused as they aren’t sure whether to do what their coach has told them, or what their ridiculous parent has bellowed at them.

Probably the biggest relief when my youngest son decided to change sport was meeting a better type of parent on the touchline, and not having to have anything to do with some of these lowlifes any more.

Sad thing is they are driving people (and kids) away who would otherwise enjoy playing football as a hobby. They don’t seem to realise that if their particular sprog had any talent, he would already have been spotted and signed by a major club.

You said "Uneducated" Fifth, how very lardy dah of you,

Mentalists are everywhere and have always been, sadly these days it seems there might be more of them, but you are right at a child's footy match it is ridiculous to become so involved.

Re: Mentalists at kids football
I was watching the missus son play football the other week all aged 15-16, cup game against a team from South London.

Things weren't going the oppositions way and it got niggly, then their striker unloads on the centre back with about 5 punches to the face. He gets sent off and the defender can't continue and also has to come off, so his Dad goes over to see if he is ok and says something to the player sent off, with that the player comes back on the pitch and head-butts the Dad straight in the nose, his nose explodes everywhere, I was cracking up, the game got abandoned.

Isn't that what weekend football is all about?

Fuck all that clapping the opposition and shaking hands bollocks

That made me laugh, today's parents are funny fuckers, I purposely condemn my children to a life long tirade of knowing they suck and bigly, although as I have realised now, pay back is a bitch.

Ran a team for 8 years back in the 90s. One thing I never did was to get involved in a ruck with the parents of either side,

It's hard I know, particulary on a Sunday afternoon game where some pratts have been in the pub beforehand and won't keep their mouths shut.
